How are my volare peeps doing?! I have great news! Red Packet Server has resumed and our new translator, Seth, is going to be releasing daily! Not only that, he is starting off with 20 chapters right off the bat! This means that you can read up to 800 chapters now! (The first 780 chapters were translated by Selutu)
Ever wanted to chat with Sun Wukong on WeChat? Or download peaches of immorality through your cell phone? Well, now you can... at least, you can if you’re Ye Zichen, the protagonist of Red Packet Server. For the rest of you, you might not be able to access the underworld through your smartphone, but at least you can read about it!
RPS is the story of Ye Zichen, a random Chinese university student who finds himself in a WeChat group with a bunch of immortals. It’s a fun mix of comedy, action, face-slapping, and harem romance. If you like those things, or if the premise appeals to you, you’ll probably like RPS. Also, without spoiling anything, even though RPS starts small and at least somewhat rooted in reality, it gets progressively larger and more epic as the series goes on. If you like the first few chapters, odds are you’ll like RPS even better a hundred chapters in.
Seth also has a message for all of you.
To readers old and new:
Hi, I’m Seth, the new translator for RPS. I’m an American, but I live and work in Szeged, a large town/small city in southern Hungary. My main hobbies are reading fantasy novels and studying Chinese, so after reaching an advanced level in the language, translating Chinese fantasy novels seemed like the obvious next step… this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m really excited to get started!
Just one last thing for now… I’m a rookie translator AND I’m taking over an existing project so I expect there will be some hiccups along the way. Please be patient with me, especially for the first few months. I will do my best to keep the novel’s style and terminology consistent, but there will inevitably be some differences. Also, I’m doing most of my own proofreading. I’ll do my best, but there will undoubtedly be some mistakes. As you’re reading this, please feel free to point out any errors, awkward English, or instances of inconsistent terminology. Thanks in advance! And to all readers, whether you’ve been itching for updates or are reading RPS for the first time, welcome!
Please give a warm welcome to Seth and treat him well! Translating requires tremendous amounts of effort, dedication, and skill. There is a lot more that goes behind the scene. Honestly, not many have the fuel to get to the finish line. However, I am confident that Seth can do it! Welcome to volare, Seth! <3
Without further ado, we present to you, Red Packet Server!
